click here for more rencontre avec les 1d Nepal: The Best of Everest. This is a combination of two treks in the Khumbu region of Nepal. The first one takes you to Gokyo and its beautiful lakes. You then trek up to Gokyo-ri for a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of many of the world’s over 8000m peaks including Mt. Everest. You then cross the Cho-la pass to enter the Khumbu Valley and trek to Kala Pathar for a closer view of Mt. Everest and the South Col before trekking to the Base Camp and returning back to Kathmandu. We will be using the best lodges on this trek, some are quite comfortable while others are quite basic. These days – unfortunately – there are few places that you can actually put up a tent!

The only others on this trail – are usually mountaineers on their way to the top of Everest or some other mountain in the region. It is a camping trek – but we do use a trip to Lhasa and to the base camp as a period to acclimatise by visiting interesting landmarks in Tibet. ..
