Come and explore
new trekking routes with us!
I really enjoy trekking in beautiful parts of the world, specially if it is on a trail that few people know about. I am off in April trekking in the Toska Lake region of the Sikkim Himalaya. Sikkim is wedged in between Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan.
This trek route takes us through cardamom fields and pristine forests of rhododendron for spectacular views of snow covered mountains including Pandim, Kabru, Janu, Talung, Simvo, Sinolchu and Sikkim’s sacred mountain Kangchenjunga 8,586m, (28,169 feet). Our trek ends in a small Lepcha village. The Lepchas are indigenous to Sikkim and are a gentle people who are animists and believe in spirits in animals and plants.
As this is not a very long trek – I have offered the option of combining this trek with two of my favourite treks: The Green Lake Trek in north Sikkim and the Everest View Trek (Singalila Trek) along the Darjeeling, Sikkim border.
David and Penelope Briese who trekked with us in April 2006 have put together a superb website that will show you what you may expect to experience. They have very kindly let me share this with you.

We will be limiting our group size to 12 members – so do send for information – if any of these treks interest you.
I returned from the Himalaya a few weeks back. We have been very busy with our treks in Bhutan, Sikkim and Darjeeling. I took the trek up to Guiche-la – and enjoyed the company of a very varied group of people on our trip. They came from France, Canada, India and the USA and most had never trekked at these high altitudes before.
I shall be travelling in and out of Australia for the next few months. One of these trips in early February will take me to Patagonia. If you by chance are thinking of an interesting holiday take a look at this information sheet.
I try and stay close to a computer and am happy to answer any questions you may have – so do email me at mohan@trekking.com.au
Here’s wishing you a very Happy New Year – if I do not hear from you before then.
– Mohan
