The Trekking Company
got to the top of Mt. Everest in May 2008.
Karma Sherpa stuck The Trekking Company sticker with cello tape to his down jacket as he got to the top! Congratulations Karma – and thankyou for taking The Trekking Company to new heights!
That Karma should think of us at this most important moment of his life – is really very kind. I made friends with Karma on a trek to the Advance Base Camp of Mt. Everest. He has been leading our trips in the Everest region since.
I have just got back from a trek over the high passes close to Everest with a wonderful group made up of Australians, an Indian school friend and an English couple. And when I get emails – like the ones below after a trek – I get to my version of Nirvana!
"Mohan, wot can we say,? Only superlatives mate, just fantastic. Enjoyed every bloody second of it and hopefully more to come in 2010." - Ross
"Many many thanks for organizing such a marvellous trek once again, and for introducing us to such a lovely group of people. We had a fabulous time and would like to say how much we appreciate your organizing skills, your team and your personality. And once again, I say that if the Trekking Company goes where we want to go, we'll use the Trekking Company." - Steve
From my school mate! "many thks for a really wonderful trek superbly organised", "thks a million for a really wonderful trek full of fun and laughter" - Faroukh
I like to operate a hands on organisation – and enjoy being out there. I love it. I get to travel to fascinating destinations, meet wonderful people, make local contacts and design our style of trek and travel.
If I am not behind my desk – you know I am out there working! The best way to contact me is by email: mohan@trekking.com.au. And don't be surprised if you receive a reply from Namche Bazaar, Lhasa, Darjeeling, Paro or Buenos Aires!
It has been pretty much go, go, go from the beginning of the year. First the Adelaide Hills, and the great Ocean Road in South Australia in January, Patagonia – Argentina and Chile in February, then Darjeeling and Sikkim in March and the high passes of the Everest region in May. Here are pictures that I took on these trips so you can see the variety of destinations and styles of travel.
I shall be behind my desk for a few months, working on our coming trips to Bhutan, Sikkim, Patagonia and the Advance Base Camp of Mt. Everest amongst others. So if there is anyway I can assist you with your trekking or tour plans – do email me mohan@trekking.com.au ! Dream up a holiday in the regions we travel to, and I shall see it I can put it together for you.
Cheers - Mohan
